The community of Romanian engineers
AGIR brings together engineering professionals, supports research and keeps alive the contribution of Romanian engineering to the development of society. Founded in 1918, it carries on the work of the Polytechnic Society of 1881.
A professional association of engineers since 1918
The General Association of Engineers in Romania (AGIR) is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit professional organisation with legal personality. It is open to engineers, to graduates of other disciplines working in engineering-related fields, to students and to organisations that share its aims.
AGIR is the legal successor of the Polytechnic Society (1881) and of the engineering associations that followed it. It represents Romanian engineers in Engineers Europe and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations.
